Introduction to Morpheus8
As popular as they once were, the Facelift and Neck lift surgical procedures are beginning to go the way of the Dodo. While there will always be a market for these treatments, many people are not as willing to commit themselves to the recovery time, the invasiveness of the procedure, or most importantly, the cost. Thankfully, there are more natural techniques available that not only help you look younger, but also help stimulate your body to do what it’s always done naturally. When you come to Aesthetics Med Spa to get rid of your fine lines and wrinkles, one of the fantastic, non-surgical treatments we offer to our Lansing, MI patients is Morpheus8, a handheld device that encourages collagen production.
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment using advanced microneedling. The handheld device uses radiofrequency to stimulate collagen production to tighten and smooth out wrinkles on your face and body by comfortably penetrating your skin at a deeper level than most needling treatments. The result gives you a more vibrant complexion and restores your facial skin with a more youthful appearance.
By combining radio frequency technology, the needling process, and fractional treatments, Morpheus8 can address a variety of skincare problems. Your collagen and elastin production is stimulated by the tiny needles penetrating your skin and heating the tissue. What sets Morpheus8 from other Lansing, MI needling treatments is the depths in which the needles can penetrate your skin, and it’s the only treatment that can mold the fat under your skin to obtain optimal results. When the subdermal layers are contoured and refined, your face’s muscles and skin can sculpt a more natural appearance.
What are the Benefits of Morpheus8?

What’s the First Step?
If you would like to remodel your skin on a subdermal level and revitalize the “scaffolding” supporting your complexion, the first thing you need to do is contact Aesthetics Med Spa and schedule your Morpheu8 consultation in Lansing. During your appointment, either Dr. Ronan or a member of our Aesthetics team will sit down with you to answer any questions you have about the treatment and listen to your desires for your skin. They will give you an evaluation and ask you questions based on your medical history, collecting all the information they need to draft up your treatment plan. Once finished, and if you agree with the plan they have created, our Patient Coordinator will be able to help you schedule your first treatment session.
What to Expect on the Day of Morpheus8
When you come in for your treatment, we will begin by making you comfortable and applying a numbing ointment to alleviate any sensation from the needles. The technician will then take the handheld device and will press the head of it containing the RF microneedles against your skin. It only takes a few moments for each portion to begin treated, and if you find any moment to be uncomfortable, you will be able to let the technician know so they can adjust their technique as best as possible.
Depending on what your skin needs, this treatment will take between 30 and 60 minutes.
After your treatment, you shouldn’t experience any downtime or a recovery period, in fact, many of our patients feel comfortable enough to return to work the next day. There may be some minor bleeding from the pinpricks, but this only lasts a few seconds and we will clean you up before you leave our office. You can expect some redness and a hot sensation, similar to having a sunburn, for up to one week. On occasion, there is also some swelling around the treated area that disappears within a day or so. We recommend using a good moisturizer and broad-spectrum sunscreen for at least the first few weeks post-treatment.
As your skin heals, your skin should feel refreshed, revitalized, and enhanced. Your body will produce new collagen over the next few weeks which will plumpen your skin and any sunken skin contours will show more volume. This will give you a firmer complexion, making you appear more youthful with smoother skin.

“ I have been seeing Dr. Ronan for Botox for migraines for years. Due to my Moyamoya disease nothing takes my pain away completely but the injections do help. He is great, and his staff is very nice. He is also my husband’s general practitioner. He is a wonderful doctor and a very nice person.”
