Introduction to BodyTite
We all strive to look and feel our best. Diet and exercise are the cornerstones of staying fit, but sometimes that is not sufficient. Now you have the answer: BodyTite. With BodyTite, you can reduce fat without having to worry about sagging or wrinkly skin. Patients can now achieve surgical-like results with no large incisional scars, less downtime, and long-lasting, beautiful results. At Aesthetics MedSpa, we strive to provide our Lansing patients with results that they can be proud of and feel confident with. To learn more about the BodyTite treatment and how it can improve your appearance, keep reading below.
What is BodyTite?
BodyTite is an advanced, minimally invasive treatment that combines the power of Radiofrequency Assisted Liposuction (RFAL) technology to target stubborn fat and tighten loose skin. This innovative procedure is performed by our experienced doctor and offers a dual benefit: fat reduction and skin tightening, with minimal downtime. It’s an excellent option for those who want to avoid the risks and recovery time associated with surgery and anesthesia, but still desire effective body contouring results.
RFAL technology uses controlled radiofrequency energy to liquefy fat cells, which are then removed through liposuction, while simultaneously stimulating collagen production to tighten and firm the skin. To enhance these results, we incorporate Morpheus8, an advanced microneedling treatment with radiofrequency that further refines skin texture, improves elasticity, and tightens sagging skin. This combination maximizes the contouring and skin rejuvenation effects, delivering smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking results.
Some of the most common areas of treatment focus are:
- Arms
- Chest
- Knees
- Inner/outer thighs
- Abdomen
- Back
BodyTite, with the added benefits of Morpheus8, is the perfect solution for those looking to reduce fat and tighten skin in multiple areas with minimal downtime and without the need for anesthesia or surgery.
BodyTite Vs Liposuction
Everyone is familiar with Liposuction, as it’s one of the most well-known procedures for weight loss available, but with the recent uptick of interest in BodyTite, many patients wonder: which one is best? While only you can decide which procedure you’d prefer, we enjoy providing the key differences between the two so that you can make your best-informed decision.
Technique Differences
BodyTite is a minimally invasive procedure that combines Radiofrequency Assisted Liposuction (RFAL) technology, which both removes stubborn fat and tightens loose skin. The radiofrequency energy liquefies fat for easy removal while stimulating collagen production to tighten and firm the skin. This dual action makes BodyTite ideal for individuals who want fat reduction and skin tightening with minimal downtime.
Traditional liposuction, on the other hand, focuses solely on fat removal through mechanical suction and does not address skin laxity. In many cases, patients may need additional surgery to remove excess skin, which can leave scars and extend recovery. However, liposuction can be added to BodyTite for more significant fat removal while still benefiting from the skin-tightening effects of RFAL. This combination allows for comprehensive body contouring with less downtime compared to traditional liposuction alone.
Recovery Time: BodyTite vs. Liposuction
BodyTite offers a significantly shorter recovery time compared to traditional liposuction. Because BodyTite is minimally invasive, it involves only small incisions and typically does not require general anesthesia, which means less trauma to the body and a quicker recovery. Most patients experience mild swelling and bruising, with minimal downtime. Many people are able to return to light activities within 2 to 4 days, and more strenuous exercise can generally be resumed after 2 weeks. The results of BodyTite continue to improve over time as the skin tightens and collagen production is stimulated, offering a smoother, firmer appearance with less post-procedure recovery.
In contrast, liposuction is a more invasive procedure that requires larger incisions and general anesthesia, which can result in a longer recovery period. Patients typically experience more swelling, bruising, and discomfort after liposuction, with most people needing 1 to 2 weeks before they can return to work or light activities. However, full recovery, including the resumption of more strenuous activities, can take 4 to 6 weeks. Additionally, liposuction may require the use of drainage tubes to remove excess fluid, which can extend the recovery time. While liposuction provides more immediate fat removal results, the recovery is more involved, and the skin may remain loose, requiring additional procedures for skin tightening or surgery in some cases.
Keep in mind that with any procedure, results will vary from patient to patient. Ultimately, if you have any questions or are unsure about what’s best for you, we encourage you to have that discussion with either Dr. Ronan or one of our skilled and highly trained Aestheticians.Recovery and Downtime
Traditional lipo requires about 7 – 14 days of downtime, with an additional lengthy recovery time to see final results. Compression garments are also typically needed for up to six weeks. Lipo also generally results in uncomfortable bruising and swelling in the treated area, potential deep tissue bruising that can last weeks, and large scars that may never truly fade. Patients will also need about three to nine months before noticing results, with the best results after one year.
Most BodyTite patients only have two to three days of downtime and achieve full recovery within a couple of days. Although you may still need to wear a compression garment, it is normally removed after about two weeks. BodyTite patients can still expect some minor bruising and swelling, but the level of discomfort is greatly reduced. The treatment also leaves minimal scarring (if any) that will fade over time. BodyTite patients usually see results immediately after the procedure, with the best results noticeable after six months.
Keep in mind that with any procedure, results will vary from patient to patient.

Alternative to Arm Lift
Also referred to as a Scarless Arm Lift, the BodyTite arm lift is one of the most popular and effective treatments that BodyTite offers. Unlike a traditional arm lift that involves cutting away loose skin and extra tissue, a BodyTite arm lift focuses on removing excess fat and tightening the skin without large incisions. The treatment uses a special handpiece that makes very tiny cuts in the skin, leaving very little scarring, if any at all!
BodyTite is unique in its ability to perform two critical functions at once – removing stubborn pockets of fat while simultaneously smoothing and toning your upper arms. Dr. Ronan will begin the process by making a small incision, which is about 2-3 mm in width. This allows the cannula of the BodyTite device to be inserted and deliver the radiofrequency energy to generate the heat that targets and dissolves unwanted fat cells, which is then sucked out of the body through the same cannula. While this is occurring, there is also an external electrode that passes electrical energy to the internal cannula to tighten the subdermal tissues for a more uniform result. The entire procedure typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours and can yield long-lasting results after just one session. A follow-up treatment should be considered about a year after the initial procedure for patients looking to enhance their results. A BodyTite arm lift can be an excellent option for adults wanting to tackle the issue of sagging, loose skin on their upper arms. It’s important to remember that being a good candidate is also about being prepared (both physically and mentally) for the procedure and having a well-informed understanding of what to expect during the recovery and beyond.Post Menopause Body Contouring
Just because you’re getting older, that doesn’t mean that you have to look older! BodyTite can remove that stubborn, excess fat and tighten sagging skin to give you a much more youthful appearance.
As a woman’s estrogen levels drop during menopause, it leads to the accumulation of excess fat in the hips and abdomen. It can also create changes in skin and breast appearance, with the potential to lose muscle mass. Menopause has also led to a slower metabolism, making it difficult to lose weight and tone your body.
BodyTite can help almost every woman who’s past menopause achieve better bodies with a very minimally-invasive procedure that requires less recovery time and even less pain than a traditional Liposuction procedure.
