Broken Capillaries & Spider Veins
Spider veins can occur when the valves inside our veins stop working properly. If this valve is weakened or becomes damaged, the blood may struggle to flow in the correct direction. Over time, this can cause pressure in the vein, resulting in thin lines that branch out and web. These veins present themselves in red, blue, and purple like threads, usually found on the legs, and sometimes face.
Broken capillaries and spider veins on the face are often the result of tiny blood vessels bursting. Increased pressure, weather conditions, prolonged or alcohol, or sun damage can cause this to occur. Usually referred to as broken capillaries or broken blood vessels.
